We made it to the lake in three whole pieces. We stopped at Mimi and Papa John's to play a little and have supper, then loaded up to reach our final destination. Christopher is so excited that he only napped for about 30 minutes and we were in Montgomery, so I had to wake him up. But he said so many funny things today that I just have to add them on here:
1) I told him this morning that we weren't leaving until after lunch. He immediately went to the fridge and grabbed his "bitty lunch" (aka lunchable) that Brandon bought him at the store and said he was ready for lunch. It was 10:00 in the morning. I got him to wait until 10:54. He ate all the cheese, two bites of cracker, threw the rest away and told me he was "ready to roll." I laughed so hard and tried not to be angry that he just wasted an entire lunch. (Honey, I quit buying those b/c we have cheese and crackers at home. He won't eat the ham or drink the juice. I love you!)
2) As soon as we make our first turn away from our house he tells me, "I'm ready to be at Grammie and Pop's house." He continues to say this several times over the next hour. I finally tell him that it takes 2 movies to get to their house, to which he replies, "Nah, I don't want to watch a movie, I just want to be there." I lose. He finally forgets about it and then starts again when the movie I made him watch is over.
3) We leave Mimi and Papa John's house and he starts saying, "I don't know where Grammie and Pop's house is." I keep telling him it's ok, I do know where it is and I'm going to take him there. He thinks about it a little while and says, "I want to go back to Mimi and Papa John's house." I ask why. He tells me b/c he knows where they live.
4) We pass a field next to a toll booth and I try to teach him what is done in a field to explain that tractors do more than ride on the sidewalk. I tell him that food is grown there like corn and potatoes and tomatoes and stuff like that. He says, "And hot dogs too!"
5) We are one turn away from their house and I tell him that to bring back that excitement that has been fading. He stretches his neck out as far as he can trying to see out the window and he says, "I think I'm going to be excited!!"
That's only the beginning of our adventure at the lake. I'll post more later!
